The standout innovation of the Cressi Quantum mask is its ability to reduce fogging while also improving downward visibility—ideal for divers who want a clearer view of their kit, gauges, and the environment below.
Instead of relying on chemical lens treatments, Quantum tackles fog at the source: warm, damp air leaving the nose. A patented system of internal membranes around the nose pocket and eye areas channels this moisture away from the lenses and towards the skirt. By trapping humidity before it can reach the glass, the mask helps keep your vision clearer throughout the dive. As a bonus, the membrane system can also reduce the need for frequent pressure equalisation.
On the outside, the skirt incorporates two small heat exchangers that act like radiators. These help cool the air inside the mask, bringing the internal temperature closer to the surrounding water temperature. This reduces condensation and captures moisture droplets before they reach the lenses—further improving the anti-fog effect.
Despite the added technology, the Quantum remains compact and is one of the most advanced designs in underwater vision. As with any new mask, it’s recommended to thoroughly clean the lenses before first use (toothpaste or mild dishwashing detergent works well), or use an anti-fog cleaner. For best results on early dives, apply anti-fog solution (or saliva), then rinse lightly before entering the water.
